The Royal Crest name has been part of the Miami Valley for almost 100 years and represents a proud legacy of business and entrepreneurship.
The Royal Crest name was first used in 1930 when O.G Huffman started the Royal Crest Dairy. It was located on Salem Ave. in Dayton, OH and existed from 1930-1988. The dairy was one of the largest producers of dairy products in the Miami Valley.
In 1947 Royal Crest Distributors, Inc. was formed as a distributor of various agricultural products. It was located in Clayton, OH. In 1956, Gene Cox of Arcanum, OH became partner in the Royal Crest Dairy and the distributorship. Eventually, he became the sole owner and moved the operations to Greenville, OH in 1985. This business continues today and is evolved in various commercial ventures.
Royal Crest Farms was started in 1958 and owned several farms in Darke County, OH. One the farms consisted of a large milking operation. It was a popular host throughout the 1960’s and 1970’s to school children from Dayton and the surrounding area who wanted to experience farm life. Another farm included a large hog operation and housed over 15,000 hogs. It operated in conjunction with a major animal feed distributor and supplied pork products to packers throughout the Midwest.
In 1993, Royal Crest Marketing Inc. d/b/a Royal Crest Agency was founded in Tipp City, OH by Philip & Lois Cox as an independent insurance and financial agency. It provides advisory services to a wide range of personal and commercial clients. Royal Crest Properties, LLC was formed in 2005 as a commercial property management company. One of its properties includes the former federal post office building in historic downtown Tipp City, OH.
Today, Brandon Cox and Kevin Cox are managing partners in the various Royal Crest operations. Their business heritage and educations help continue the Royal Crest name and entrepreneur spirit in the Miami Valley.
